NOT stuck in the 70′s
My old car
This Scamp rolled off the line in Newark, Delaware during the 1974 model year to fill a customer order and was highly optioned. With a 318 V-8, Air Conditioning, Ralley wheels, Lucerne Blue paint and all the chrome options, this Scamp had just about every goodie you could get, including the three-speaker AM/FM radio, electric rear window defroster, and a map light! I bought the car in July of 2000 from a father and son in Eastern Massachusetts.
Some pictures of my car—this is a series of 15 photos of my Scamp post-restoration.
Restoration—this is a series of 75 frame-grabs from a video I made during the Scamp restoration.
My new Scamp—It rained the day after I bought it, but I snapped a few quick shots anyway.

Motorcycles
I got a dirt bike for christmas when I was 8 and have been riding on and off ever since. I’ve had a bike now continuously since 1998. I’m riding the yellow Kawasaki ZR-7S and my girl rides the blue Ninja 250. I have the 1996 Suzuki for sale for $500. Needs work.
Guitars I couldn’t play :) (Sold )
Guitars
I love music and have always been fascinted with guitar. I took a few lessons when I was about 11 and didn’t have the attention span for it. I bought a custom-painted guitar body from an artist around 1993 and bought a luthiers manual. I bought and collected all the parts to build a guitar with it and built it. I bought a lesson book and CD and gave myself a few lessons. I actually learned a few things this time, some scales and some chords. I put it down again and eventually sold the guitar back to the artist who painted the body. In 2006 I decided I wanted to buy a cheap guitar to hang on the wall as a decoration. That collection is now up to 6 guitars, with 4 of them hanging on my walls. Again, I bought a lesson book and CD/DVD and gave myself a few lessons. I still know some scales and a few chords!
Saltwater Coral Reef at Home!
My mini-reef
I have 2 12-gallon mini-reef tanks. These tanks host an array of corals, invertibrates, crustaceons, algae and a fish! These tanks are a hobby that spawned from my time with Life Oceanic.
Computer gaming in the 1970′s
My favorite game
In 1977 my mother was a librarian at the local university, and I discovered the university’s mainframe! There were a few games on the system, including EMPIRE. I was immediately hooked. I played EMPIRE on the college computer for the next couple of years until my mother changed jobs. One of the things I missed most was EMPIRE! In the late 1980′s I found a version of EMPIRE that was ported to MS-DOS and I was thrilled! I also found an EMPIRE “enhancer” application that gave it some color. I’ve been playing regularly ever since.
EMPIRE is a simulation of a full-scale war between two emperors, the computer and you. Naturally, there is only room for one, so the object of the game is to destroy the other. The computer plays by the same rules that you do.
