Resume′
This site contains twenty-plus years of my professional background in an online portfolio and resume. For the last seventeen years I have been accepting various freelance contract work in web development, as well as many telephony-related, LAN/PC installation and maintenance, database development and general technology consulting projects. These projects are so numerous and varied that I dare not try to include them all here. Since March 2006, I have been freelancing as my primary employment and I am actively seeking new and exciting projects and challenges.

- Managed and maintained 12 marine systems ranging in size from 1000-3500 gallons each.
- Conducted purchasing, receiving, marketing and sales of marine wildlife and aquarium supplies.
I often manage to merge my work and my hobbies. I have been an aquarium hobbyist since a very early age. During the summer of 2005, while looking for a new fish tank, I found this company for sale. I partnered with the owner to continue to operate the facility, rather than sell. I spent the next six months immersed in the marine and reef aquarium business. In addition to producing a website for the company, I participated in all aspects of running this business. From purchasing to sales, fish care and large systems maintenance, and a very successful eBay store. In March of 2006 I sold my share of the company and returned to the Orlando area to seek a new challenge.

- Managed all company technologies in networks, telephony and internet.
A former employee of Essential Marketing Concepts contacted me in March of 2004 and asked if I would meet with some of his friends who were starting a marketing company in Orlando. In our meeting we determined that we had many like ideas about how to build and run a marketing company of this type. Mostly based on data management. Over the next year, I defined, designed, developed and implemented an advance online software package to manage and integrate all of the data generated by the company. A sales and marketing campaign data analysis package that saw this company make more than $4 million in sales in just over eight months. Although our ideas of systems and data management were very much alike, I had major differences with the partners personnel management style. That led to my departing the company in August of 2004.
04/2003-02/2004 — Upholstery by Dennis, Oviedo, FL
Partner/Upholstery Technician
- Managed all aspects of shop operations.
- Carpet replacement, headliner replacement, seat re-covering.
- Various custom auto interior/trim work.
While restoring my 1974 Plymouth, I found Dennis Harveys’ small upholstery shop in Oviedo, FL. I hired him to install the new vinyl top on my car. While the job was being done, I talked extensively with Mr. Harvey about my car, my hobby, his business, the car business and my web development background. Before the job was complete, we had established a friendship, which developed into a partnership in his shop. I worked in the shop for the next 10 months and received a great OJT education in auto upholstery and trim. Unfortunately this was not a very profitable business, and in February of 2004 I left the partnership to seek a new opportunity.
2/2002-1/2003 — Option Benefits Corp., Winter Springs, FL
Partner / Webmaster
- Developed concept, plan, funding and start-up of company.
- Developed product offering and established provider relationships.
- Responsible for all technical operations of the company.
Option Benefits is a program that allows individuals to receive quality care at an affordable price, under a system that allows the healthcare provider to get the immediate payment–at the same rates they receive from an insurance company 60 or 90 days later–without the paperwork and restrictions.
As a partner in this startup, this website was entirely my responsibility from concept to design, from design to implementation and from implementation to ongoing maintenance and support. This project exercised all of my web and programming skills and involved several customized online banking relationships. While the idea behind Option Benefits was very promising, the venture was severely under-funded and ceased operations in December of 2002.
