After a recent stay at a local Bed & Breakfast, I approached the proprietor about the lack of online reservations on their website. I built a new site using WordPress and EasyReservations plugin (customized), as well as custom installations of the following plugins:

1. Contact Form 7
2. Google Maps embed
3. Lightbox Plus
4. Widget Logic
5. WP Wunderground Weather Widget

I intend to approach other B&B’s to offer similar WordPress sites.

I acquired a used Apple Macintosh computer in December 2006 for the purpose of making my websites more Mac-friendly. When I received the computer, I brought it to my local Mac shop to get checked out and to get some upgrades. By the time I left the store, I had a contract to build a new website for Mighty Mac, and had begun negotiations for a partnership in the store itself.
I have sold, serviced, networked and programmed PC’s throughout my entire career, and only serviced a few Mac’s during my tenure with Lifespan, Inc. It is time to broaden my horizons and become proficient with Macintosh. What better way than to own/operate a Mac service shop?

This site will again pull out all the stops and use every trick in my repertior. The concept is simple; a virtual Macintosh desktop in a web browser. The interface will include all the basics of the Mac OS X interface, draggable desktop icons, opening/closing windows, the ‘Dock’, embedded Mac sounds and a host of other DHTML and Javascript techniques. By the end of this project I should have a pretty good idea of how to operate a Mac!
